Are you the next Lionel Messi? The BBC comes to Argentina...

The BBC website recently reported on a new reality TV show which is aiming to uncover football´s next big thing. In the report, they visit Argentina and talk to some contenders dreaming of becoming the new Lionel Messi.

Take a look at the clip here.

So, what do you think? Has reality TV gone too far this time? Would you be interested in watching this programme? Or even in taking part?
Can you suggest an idea for the next big reality TV show?

  2. I think that this kind of programs, which boys go crazy, have gone too too far along time ago.. i've never seen Big Brother, but i was told what it was based on, an, believe me,it's difficult for me to think that there're programs like theses on TV nowadays!

  3. From my point of view, it's been some time since reality TV has gone really far but somehow people seem to like it. I mean, there's been 6 or 5 versions of Big Brother already and each one of them had raiting. It looks like people these days like to waste their time in watching meaningless programs.

  4. i agree with sofi about big brother. However i don't like Big Brother, i think watching this realities is useless but taking part is a whole different story, because as the video said they are going to teach them and help them... although what producers are interested is making money instead of helping.

  5. Although I've never seen any of this TV shows, I have the impression that the producers just take advanteged of those people who have low selfestimee. This audience get into the plot, and feel just like another character. I think that this has gone to far away. They dont care about their audience, they just care about one thing: money..

  6. This reality show creates false illusions in young people, who wants to become its dream come true as a football player. When, in fact, the producers are only interested in money and raitings.

  7. I'm pretty sure they're going to achieve nothing by taking part in this show. As many of the comments above said, nowadays most of commercial TV we watch everyday is crap. It can be succesful, however I think it's gonna be just one more of those boring realities.

  8. I think it would be amazing to take part in this competition. I´m a terrible footballer though. So the option for me is to see the reallity no tv once it is screened.

  9. I think there's a lot of people that would watch this reality because they like football!
I also think that reality TV has gone too far from the beggining, how can you possibly have fun watching 15 random guys at one house without doing nothing all day long. Another thing I would like to add is that this programmes are supposed to be real, but nowadays reality shows are not real at all!

  10. I'm not interested in realities at all and I have never seen anyone. Tv has really gone too far manu years ago.
Although it's all about money as many of you said before, I think this reality is one of the most interesting. At leaste you watch people playing football and not people just "ticking away the moments that make up a dull day".

  11. Honestly, I´m not interested in Reality show. I think, it´s a bussiness for the producer. May be these future participants will learn something about football soccer life. But, what will happen with the winner??. Do you know anything about some of realities show winners?, I don´t.

  13. Although I think this program will be very successful, and lots of people will watch it,from my point of view we won`t see the next Messi here, cause if there is any excelent young soccer player in our country he would be playing for the young division of some important team, and not trying to enter to a reality show.

  15. Don´t you remember the reality "Camino a la Gloria"?
We had the opportunity to watch this argentinian reality during 2002.
The winner was Aimar Centeno, who after having a try in Real Madrid and playing in River, is now back where he started.
Anyway, Aimar says that during the reality he learned a lot, that he felt like a real football player and that he ´ll never forget the incredible experience he had the luck to live!
So..what´s wrong about giving the chance to these boys who wish to become a football star if
you always have the chance not to watch realities if you don´t like them!

  16. Good point Natalia! I didn't know about Aimar Centeno. I know of Pablo Aimar! I think I agree - what's wrong with some young pretender having a chance making it to the big leagues of England, Italy, Spain...?

  17. Reality shows are not really my cup of tea but as I have set in my first post, for skillfull enough young people it could be an interesting opportunity to do and enjoy the thing they are most fond of. Producers are obviously motivated by money, who can blame them? It is their jobs and which have its risks. I couldn´t agree more with Natalia´s comment, If you don´t like any tv programme or even if you are strongly oppose to one of them the way to get it out is to switch off tv or change the chanel.
